I love how the warm colors infuse with Boracay’s sweltering weather :)

Most of the time, people think that I have a perfect life: problem-free, in high spirits, frolicsome, and the like. It never crossed their minds to ask if I’m doing fine. Probably because they are being blinded by the way I approach them — through text messages and online chats, the entries posted here are mixed with humor and sarcasm — the vast majority of them I know are absolutely lame, and the smiles that I display — some are real, others are for the sake of having a smile imprinted.

Look at the image above. It may seem perfectly fine because (1) the black and white composition turns an image into something very dramatic, (2) it has this natural grainy feeling, and (3) it is symmetrical. But if you look closely, the picture feels so empty.

A person is obfuscated by the obvious. A conversation with someone over the internet, including cellphones, is not an assurance that the person you’re socializing with is fine. Try to be more sensitive.

More photos from my manual SLR. Obviously, there’s not much in it. Well except for the odd-looking gift that you are seeing right now.

Some shots that were successfully developed and rendered good results.

My professor once mentioned that some Catholics hang rosaries from their rear view mirrors, and treat it like a mere “anting-anting”.

He said something like “Bago umandar ang kotse, pinapahid natin yung kamay natin sa rosaryo sabay halik. Parang anting-anting na rin yung turing nito. Yung tipong protektado ka na kasi gamit mo. *sound_effects.mp3*”

He has a point, though. But it is definitely hilarious.

I didn’t like how the image turned out due to bad settings and lighting. But the fact that I was able to document the event using a film camera gave me so much joy. The money spent for developing these images is worth it.

Buildings located in Ayala while riding the bus. Yes, I commute. It’s cheaper and a fat-burner. As seen on TV. Again, no photoshop.
